Domaine des Terres Falmet Cinsault 2021 Vin de France

Full bottle 1,153 g. Certified HVE.
Sustainably farmed, hand-picked and low-intervention winemaking.
From vineyards farmed in St-Chinian, Languedoc.

A little bloody on the nose. Cement dust. Off-beat (something Cinsault, and the winemakers who love and understand Cinsault, seem to do so well…).

It reminds me, not a little, of the facto-fermented plums I’ve made this year from our ancient Victoria plum tree which seems intent on giving us her own wood-root-and-leaf weight in plums this year. Salty, plum sweet, tangy, a little wild but gently, politely so. Finely grippy tannins, like dusty stones. Rosemary and peppery lifting through the wine like a cool evening breeze picking up after a hot day. So thirst-quenchingly drinkable, and a wine I revisited for nearly three weeks without it once growing tired.
